[News] Bali Trance Retreat

Gone are the days of having to be locked in a studio to make music you want to hear. Innovation and technology have paved the way to new possibilities. No more staring into the abyss from a studio window, or hanging a picture of inspiration on your wall. With a vast array of paradises around the world, it was only a matter of time before someone set a new standard for all aspiring creative music producers.

As such, the brand new Trance Retreat has been announced, an event which by all accounts seems to be the first of its kind. Nestled in the heart of a spiritual, awe-inspiring and creative mecca, Indonesia’s most popular tourist destination, Bali, is where you can spend a week being trained by four world-renowned Trance Producers.

Edwin Tsui (co-organiser) and Dennis Sheperd (co-organiser/artist) announced their inaugural event in June, with over 50% of allocated spots already filled. The concept was born through organic conversations between the pair about the digital nomad lifestyle and workations (work vacations).

The intimate retreat kicks off in September, providing 12 screened participants the opportunity to learn some of the highest quality training in Trance music production.

Beyond taking in the sights with you, during the week long retreat in Bali, heavyweights Dennis Sheperd, Sied van Riel, Mark Sixma and Protoculture will also guide you through the ins and outs of the craft.

To qualify for a spot in this once in a lifetime opportunity, an application and Skype interview is required, to ensure that participants get the maximum benefit out of this retreat.

The jam-packed schedule includes:

  • 1 on 1 training (reservation based system);
  • 2x 3h training sessions from each Producer;
  • 6h group jam where a track will be produced from scratch;
  • Networking and leisurely activities.

We have no doubt that this will be an ongoing annual event, given the response it’s had already.
